In addition to the extensive recovery program which includes all of the additional aspects of creative arts, recreation, education and leadership development; participants of the program are given opportunities within the Esther organisation and within the community, for workplace training and employment.
With this, some young women have gained full time and casual employment with several businesses across Perth, with one program graduate landing a position as a Dental Nurse trainee with the local Dentist, another young girl starting a cadetship with Woodside Energy and three young graduates of the program recently snapped up by the Australian Taxation Office under a traineeship program.
After volunteering at a cafe that also supports our organisation, one of the young women was given employment as a barista and also at the local delicatessen and the local shops in South Perth you will find girls from our program working gainfully.
The foundation also operates CATERGIRLS Catering Company, who are always quite busy and offer many training and development skills in cooking, preparing food, waitress and event management. The girls have been trained by Empyrean Hospitality Training and all have Cert III completed qualifications, Barista course completion certificates and RSA certificates.
As part of the graduation process, program participants are also given the responsibility and the experience of assisting the Shift Leader with duties around the delivery of services within the program. This will quite often couple with studies that are available at Esther in Community Services from Joondalup TAFE or can be assessed for prior learning [RPL] from ACAS.
