Donations and Refunds

The Esther Foundation Inc (“The Foundation”) is registered as a charity with the Australian Charities and Not for Profits Commission and is a deductible gift recipient (DGR).

All pricing and transactions on this website are stated in Australian Dollars (AUD).

By completing a donation, you certify that:

1. You accept the Terms & Conditions and the Privacy Policy, and

We only use your information to process your donations, communicate with you about our charitable objectives and keep you up to date with our events and opportunities to help support our mission and purpose.

Donations by individuals can be made in the form of one-off donations, regular gifts or bequests. The Foundation will typically determine where the funds are directed within its program and services. If a donation is designated to a specific project, The Foundation will use all reasonable endeavours to direct that donation to the requested project. Donations of gifts in kind will also be directed as determined by The Foundation.

The Foundation can provide official receipts for approved donations of $2.00 or more. Donors providing single gifts receive a receipt for each donation and regular gifts can receive an annual receipt, unless otherwise requested. The Foundation also accepts anonymous donations but is unable to issue a tax-deductible receipt to the donor in these circumstances

Online Donations

The Foundation website is setup and enabled for online donations using a secure online service. However, despite the security on the website, all users should be aware that there are risks in transferring personal information across the Internet.

On our fundraising database we record the donor's name, address, email, telephone, amount donated and frequency of donation. Our fundraising database is protected by secure user IDs and passwords. This step serves to help protect it from misuse, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. To seek or receive a donation refund you must contact The Foundation within 14 days of receipt by phone on (08) 6298 0223 between 9am and 5pm AWST (Australian Western Standard Time) Monday to Friday or by email to Alternatively, you can send written queries to: The Esther Foundation, PO Box 421, Kalamunda 6926 Western Australia.

Any donation, purchase or other transactions made through the website by a user inserting that user’s credit card details is final and not disputable. Where there has been unauthorised use of a user’s credit card, and the unauthorised nature of that use is proved on the balance of probabilities, then the donation will be considered immediately for refund.

The Foundation thoroughly considers all requests for a refund and will ensure that genuine errors are corrected. For errors made by The Foundation, our financial institution(s), platform partners or suppliers, a full refund will be made immediately upon notification of the error and investigation concluded.

The Foundation is under no obligation to give refunds and the decisions on refunds will be made at The Foundation’s discretion. If you would like to request a refund, please provide details of how you made the donation, the amount, the date and the reason for your request. Your request for refund will be confirmed by return phone call.

If a donation is refunded, the associated tax receipt is no longer valid and should be destroyed accordingly. Please note that it is your (everyone’s) responsibility to submit correct receipts to the ATO (Australia Taxation Office).

Online donations that are refunded will be removed from your online profile. Any donations that are refunded can only be refunded to the same account and by the payment method the donation was made.

Recurring Donations

To cancel recurring donations, notification is required at least 10 clear business days prior to the next scheduled payment date to effect any cancellation.

Donations we cannot accept

In line with the Fundraising Institute of Australia code we will not accept a donation where:

  • There is a reasonable belief that the donor is in vulnerable circumstances or lacks capacity to decide to donate; or
  • Accepting the donation would compromise the interests and objectives of our cause,
  • The cost of accepting the donation will be greater than the value of the donation; or
  • There is reason to believe that accepting the donation may give rise to litigation.

The Foundation cannot accept funds raised in a way that is contrary to our values or may be seen to compromise or contradict the foundations work. As a rule The Foundation will NOT enter into a fundraising agreement or accept donations from individuals, groups or corporations (as cash, pro-bono and/or gifts in kind) that are involved in activities that are incompatible with the objects of our mission, including the following:

  • Illegal activities
  • Violence
  • Discrimination
  • Irresponsible use or sale of Alcohol (and/or drugs)
  • Gambling
  • Tobacco
  • High safety risks
  • Risks to children and young people
  • Nudity or sexual imagery
  • Any other activity deemed to be inappropriate by The Foundation
